Geoff and Paul did a great job on our extension, especially with suggestions as things went along and when a few problems came up (none were their fault) they quickly came up with solutions, which put our minds at rest. They fitted windows, roof windows, patio doors, internal doors and our kitchen. They also created a lovely shower room for us. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they have excellent tradesmen they use as well, such as electrician, plasterer and decorator. We would not hesitate using them for any work in the future, and we would definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

It was an excellent decision to employ Geoff and Paul to do our extension. They have very high standards of workmanship and I couldn't be more pleased with the extension. However it was not just the workmanship. We were very grateful to have Geoff's knowledge and expertise to guide us through all the decisions we had to make along the way. He also has a list of contacts for other trades which were invaluable and all work to the same high standards as Geoff. Many of our neighbours have commented on what good builders they were and how well they cleaned up at the end of each day. We would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of having any building work.

Geoff and Paul started work on our Extension / House conversion in August 2020. The work was completed in March 2021 it was a massive job and from the start Geoff had informed us that it would take a substantial amount of time to complete.
From the onset Geoff kept us involved and informed at what stage we were at. Geoff and Paul would turn up every morning around the time they said and sometimes leave much later than we expect so that certain parts of the build were completed. When it comes to building and the conversion work Geoff can certainly be trusted (over 30 years in the trade) what you get with Geoff is what you see a Honest, Reliable, Trustworthy and conscientious builder.
Geoff is always willing to put his input into a certain part of the job. As a result we have a wonderful fully refurbished Bungalow. Even when asbestos was suspected in our garage roof Geoff had it fully tested and such is the man he apologized when it came back positive.
What else impressed me about Geoff and Paul if they were not happy with work thy had done it got knocked down and was redone.
From the initial quote Geoff recommend other trades he works with to submit quotes for Electrical and Plumbing work. Both the Electrician Paul Noonan and Plumber Dave Barton are very professional who both completed work to a very high standard. Also Gary Croston the Plaster who re plastered all the work to an excellent standard. Geoff even put us onto a Landscaper who completed the back garden and is now well into completing the front ( Dawson Landscaping) these are 2 young gents who certainly know the job and are very hard working.
Would we recommend Geoff Gardner Building 100%, would I use Geoff Gardner again if needed 100%. By the end of the build/ conversion Geoff had come in on budget and even managed to save us money on materials, Geoff likes to source materials and save money. Geoff even passed on savings for our new kitchen.
The only other thing I would say it may take a while if Geoff gives you a quote because he's busy, but in the end believe you me it will be worth the wait. The end product we got is tremendous Thanks Geoff from Pat & Craig

We decided to have an opening between the dining and living rooms into which we could fit some folding doors, also needed some radiator plumbing. Contacting a number of local (Merseyside) builders resulted in little or no interest except for Geoff! Only Geoff came to see the requirement and quoted a far more reasonable price than others gave who had not even bothered to look at the job. Due to an ongoing job Geoff wasnât able to schedule our job in the short term (couple months) but we were in no hurry and agreed to await his availability. Sooner than expected Geoff was able to fit us in because of a delay in materials on another current job. He took us through what was going to happen and we discussed some additional work. Geoff is a straight talker and very knowledgeable about his trade. He listens to what you want and then discusses how this can be achieved. Start day and he arrives with his colleague, Paul, who is himself very competent and skilled, both get cracking and at the end of the day we have a supported opening awaiting the finishing touches. They left virtually no mess, very impressed! Next day the opening is dressed ready for the plastering and the radiator work commenced. Again they get on with the job and when done no mess to worry about. Final day and Gary arrives to do the plastering, a very skilled guy, extremely impressed with the level and silky smoothness of the result! Geoff and Paul finish up the plumbing and test the result, a final tidy up and check, job done. We are very impressed with the standard of workmanship delivered by a very skilled, conscientious and friendly group of tradesmen. For an excellent build at a fair and honest price I very highly recommend Geoff and his colleagues, they are the tops!

We recently employed Geoff to demolish our conservatory and build a large kitchen/family room extension. Geoff's reputation is second to none and you won't find a better builder. He has over 30 years experience in the trade. From our first meeting i felt completely at ease and totally confident in his abilities. With Geoff what you see is what you get, he is a complete open book and more importantly he does what he says when he says he will do it. Within a day i had pictures of his jobs and a viewing was arranged of his previous work. As promised his very reasonable estimate arrived within the week.
From the moment work commenced, it soon becomes apparent that Geoff is a perfectionist, using his years of experience to utilise the latest techniques and sourcing the best materials available. He takes great care and immense pride in everything he does. Throughout the job Geoff went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right. You are consulted at every stage with him often suggesting improvements and if he can find the same quality materials at a better price, the saving is always passed directly to you.
A special mention goes to Paul who I believe was trained by Geoff and has worked with him for years and as expected works to the same exact standards. He never stops or complains whatever the task and nothing is too much trouble for him. Also, Gary Croston and his son, two really nice genuine guys who do the plastering to a flawless standard.
The extension as completely transformed our home and the quality of workmanship is exceptional throughout. Geoff has now become a firm friend and i suspect one of Geoff's greatest pleasures is when he sees the satisfaction his customers get from his work.
If you want a first class job by an honest, reliable, genuine and conscientious builder at a fair price, then look no further than Geoff.

We would not hesitate in recommending Geoff Gardner to anyone. He is a conscientious, and skilled tradesman who takes a pride in his work. He replaced our 100+ years old drains, paved a large area and built a beautiful brick wall with wooden gate - a lovely job. We will definitely use Geoff for other work in the future.

I got to know about Geoff Gardner from another tradesman who did a good job for us, so I contacted him. Geoff came, measured up for our small garage extension, had a chat explaining how he envisaged the job, advising on various details, and after agreeing on how the job should be done, he went away to work out his estimate. We received the estimate by email within the week, accepted it and rang Geoff to arrange a start date. Geoff visited to ensure that he had the best (and most reasonably priced) brick match to our house. The date came and at 08.30, as arranged, there was Geoff and Paul, his very able assistant, ready to start work. All work went to plan with Geoff thinking ahead at every stage to see if he could bring down prices yet keep the work and materials to his high standard. Geoff and Paul clean up at the end of the day wherever necessary and ensure that all is well (we even found out that Geoff was very proficient with a vacuum cleaner ..... but don't tell his wife) and Geoff kept us informed as to how work was progressing on a regular basis. We are very pleased with the work Geoff and Paul have done for us and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Geoff and Paul built our ground floor wrap around extension. From the first meeting with Geoff I felt comfortable and confident in his abilities, and now the build is completed I am so pleased we chose him. What you see is what you get. There are no airs and graces with Geoff, heââ¬â¢s been in this business for a long time so he knows what he is talking about.
You are consulted at every point in the build, and if there is money to be saved Geoff will make sure the savings are passed onto you. He looks around for the best deals in materials, which is such a benefit in the current climate. He will make suggestions and advise on changes that could be done. You may or may not agree with him, ultimately itââ¬â¢s your decision, but bear in mind Geoff has been in this trade for a very long time so he knows what he is talking about, but as I said itââ¬â¢s your decision and he will abide by that. What I will say is all his suggestions on our build have worked out perfectly and I am so glad we listened to him.
His workmanship is second to none. He is a perfectionist, and sometimes you might think he is going over the top, but no, itââ¬â¢s just how he is, he wonââ¬â¢t change and I wouldnââ¬â¢t want him too. He wonââ¬â¢t cut corners he takes his time and makes sure everything is done properly. It may take longer but remember itââ¬â¢s in your interest. Geoff takes so much pride his work, which is evident in the finished product. We just love our extension.
Geoff is honest and reliable and we would not hesitate to use him again, and would recommend him without hesitation. We appreciate everything he did for us. I must also mention Paul who works Geoff all the time. He is helpful, reliable and never moans no matter what the weather or situation, well not that I know of. I know Geoff uses different tradesmen but I must mention Baz the electrician who really knows his stuff, lovely man. And Chris the plasterer, he did an excellent job.
We started out with a builder, now we have a friend thatââ¬â¢s a builder. Itââ¬â¢s a pity all tradesmen are not as conscientious as Geoff!

I simply cannot rate these guys highly enough. This is the thirds time I've had them back to do work in the house. This time it was a quite complex and difficult shaped bathroom that was in need of an overhaul. Despite a few set backs and issues the work was completed to a fantastic standard and both within time and cost. I would not hesitate in recommending Geoff and Paul to anyone.

After 30 years of DIY maintenance our flat-roofed front-door porch finally deteriorated beyond further repair in 2015.
We called Geoff who helped us to design our ideal brick-built porch, incorporating a solid concrete foundation, insulated cavity walls, uPVC double glazing, and a dual pitch tiled roof. He fully understood all our personal requirements for the project, from the safe demolition of the old wooden structure right through to the finishing coat of plaster inside the new one. He quoted a fair price that exactly suited our budget and we arranged a mutually beneficial time slot in February 2016.
Despite cold weather and winter showers Geoff and Paul worked cheerfully and diligently to complete the project on time. We are more than delighted with the final outcome; it is a very sound construction which blends in perfectly with the surrounding neighbourhood.

Geoff Gardner and Paul are the best tradesmen we have ever come across . They are hardworking, honest, reliable lads who are pleasant and great to be around . Geoff is a perfectionist and has everything done to a high standard . We had our extension completed within weeks and his prices are fantastic . Geoff and Paul originally did some work building for me just under two years ago (see review from March 2013). From previous experience, I had no hesitation getting them back to fit our en suite bathroom. Once again they've been punctual, tidy, a good set of lads to have round the house but most importantly have completed the work to an excellent standard. I'm already planning to have them back to sort out my main bathroom. I cannot speak highly enough of Geoff and Paul and would recommend them to anyone.

I would just like to add my recommendation to the many others for this extremely honest, trustworthy and dedicated builder.
Geoff together with Paul (his very able assistant) and some excellent additional tradespeople he recommended,recently completed a full width extension and substantial renovation of my property.
Geoff is someone who will always go above and beyond, to make sure everything he does is to the highest standard. He will look for the best value for your money when purchasing materials and his wealth of knowledge is invaluable.
Him and Paul were an absolute pleasure to have around, hard working, tidy and I couldn't be happier with what they have achieved. I consider myself very lucky to have found them on the Trader site.

Geoff has done my Kitchen and Bathroom. He went above and beyond to make sure that they were done to an excellent standard and used top of the range products. He is now a friend and has been back to help sort other little problems I have had following decorating excetera. He has worked tirelessly and I would definitely recommend him no matter what the job. He arranged the delivery of appliances and pointed me in the right direction for top of the range appliances at good prices.
Overall he is a reliable and hardworking tradesman who I would have back nomatter what the job. Thanks Geoff I love the work you have done as does everyone who has seen it.

I would recommend Geoff and Paul for any job. From the moment I made the first call for Geoff to complete a quote he was helpful. He has completed the fitting of a new shower unit in my bathroom and even gave advise on where I might find items cheaper and new shower wall instead of tiles which looks amazing. He has also completed some building work to the exterior and work on the roof. Throughout the work he keep me up to date with arising issues and gave advise that I knew I could trust. The job was completed efficiently and to a very high standard. I would trust Geoff and Paul to do any work I need in the future, worth every penny.

Absolutely cannot say enough good things about Geoff and the standard of work provided. I initially contacted Geoff in August 2012. He informed me then that it would be November at the earliest that he could start any work as he was booked up. I appreciated his honesty and wanting to have the work start earlier, I decided to not progress it any further. Several months later and having been messed around by several builders wasting my time I contacted Geoff again. He informed me that he was fully booked til Feb/March time but could do the work then if required. Well worth the wait. Geoff and Paul were punctual, tidy, really nice gents and most importantly the work they have completed is top quality. If you need work doing and can afford to wait a while to get it done right first time...call Geoff. I know where to go when I need my bathroom and en suite done later this year. Thanks guys.

Geoff has worked for us on two occasions. Once for an extension and once to re fit our kitchen. The fact he came back a second time was a mark of how much we rated his service and quality of work.
He provides an honest reliable service and has great knowledge. He is always tidy in his work and eager to give you as the customer the best he possibly can. Would I recomend him ? Yes time and time again and already have done to friends in need of a trustworthy tradesman who knows his stuff.

Geoff and Paul have recently installed eleven uPVC windows and a back door in our 1950ââ¬â¢s house, and we could not praise the quality of their workmanship more highly.
The success of this project was evident right from the start when Geoff came to examine the property thoroughly taking accurate measurements to ensure that the new frames would sit snugly and securely. He gave us sound advice on the styles of windows and doors available enabling us to make quick confident decisions for every room.
Excellent teamwork and skilful use of high quality tools ensured that the old wooden frames and fragile glass were dismantled and disposed of safely and efficiently; even the daily needs of the four family cats were taken into consideration.
All of the new frames fitted perfectly and were sealed and trimmed neatly inside and out. We instantly noticed that the house felt warmer and quieter and that the old problems of draughts and condensation had been completely solved.
Thanks to Geoff and Paul we can now finish off our own internal decorations confident that we are restoring new life and vitality to our family home.

Couldn't fault any of Geoffs work from start to finish, He replaced a full bathroom from removing old suite and replacing with completley different style, retiled all walls and floor, rebuilt a c upboard and put a new ceiling in. He was very clean in all his work. I would recommend him to anyone.

We were more than delighted with the important repair work carried out by Geoff and Paul on our aging Victorian terraced house. Geoff understood exactly what needed to be done and explained clearly how long it would take and all the costs involved. Both men showed a high level of skill and experience first in restoring some original brickwork then replacing an inadequate wooden lintel with a substantial steel beam. Now we can continue our DIY decorating and modernising confident that the old house has been given back its former strength and dignity.

We hired Geoff to render our tiered garden walls in a mediterannean style. He and his assistant Paul definately exceeded our expectations. Our formerly brick garden walls were far from in a good state and the care and effort both of them put in turned it into an outstanding character feature. As other reviewers mentioned before Geoff and Paul were always on time and cleaned up after themselves. Geoff is both, knowleadgeable and maticulous in his work and we recommend him to anyone who is looking for an honest tradesman offering good value for your money.

Geoff Gardner has done a wonderful job of rebuilding a very complex wall at my home. He takes pride in his work, and has outstanding craftsmanship skills. He is a lovely lad and is very pleasant to have around while working as he is polite, tidy, hard-working and very knowledgeable about his trade and other matters. His assistant, Paul, is also very professional, pleasant and hard-working. We now have a lovely new wall that blends into the rest of the house perfectly. People have since made very positive comments about Geoffââ¬â¢s work on the wall, and I have already recommended Geoff Gardner to several people. If you want a hard-working, honest, competitive, professional tradesman who turns up on time and completes the job on-time and on-budget, and keeps the place tidy as he goes, then Geoff is your man. We are extremely pleased with the results, and would use Geoff for any further building work.

I chose to use Geoff Gardner because I knew that he was a St Helens Council Trading Standard's 'Fair Trader'
After my initial phone call he visited my home and assessed the job. He explained that he was busy at that time but was able to do the job in a few weeks. He confirmed the price verbally and I was very happy with the price.
From the outset I felt confident that I was dealing with an honest, hardworking man and I and was not wrong.
Geoff & Paul( his assistant)arrived to do my job on time,looking smart and presentable.They immediately set to work and got on with the job. Both Geoff & Paul are the type of tradesmen who take extreme pride in their work. Both my wife and myself felt comfortable with them working at our home. The job was completed on time and the site left clean and tidy. I will used Geoff Gardner again and would recommend him unequivocally as the best tradesman I have ever used
