The Trader Register is operated by St Helens Borough Council Trading Standards Service, which is small team of officers who enforce a wide range of consumer protection legislation in the area. The officers are highly skilled and expert in the legislation they enforce, and are supported by an Admin Team who play a part in the operation of the register. The team aim to ensure that all traders in the area are able to comply with the consumer protection legislation applicable to their business, through the provision of advice and support.
Through the Trader Register, Trading Standards are able to support businesses which demonstrate professionalism and high standards of customer service. We carry out thorough and comprehensive checks on any business applying for membership, including checks on the trading history of the business and persons involved with it. In addition, feedback on this site is checked to ensure its accuracy and independence.
